PUBLIC NOTICE - LaSalle Causeway: Temporary closures for marine openings in 2026

KINGSTON, ON, April 2, 2026 /CNW/ - Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSPC) wishes to advise the public that the LaSalle Causeway's marine opening schedule for 2026 has been approved by Transport Canada under the Canadian Navigable Waters Act.
As a result, the LaSalle Causeway will be fully closed to vehicles, cyclists and pedestrians to allow for the temporary opening of the main marine navigation channel during the following periods:
- Sunday, April 19, from 6 am to 8 pm
- Sunday, May 3, from 6 am to 8 pm
- Sunday, May 17, from 6 am to 8 pm
- Sunday, May 31, from 6 am to 8 pm
- Sunday, June 7, from 6 am to 10 pm
- Sunday, June 14, from 6 am to 10 pm
- Sunday, June 21, from 6 am to 10 pm
- Sunday, June 28, from 6 am to 10 pm
- Wednesday, July 1, from 6 am to 10 pm
- Sunday, July 5, from 6 am to 10 pm
- Sunday, July 12, from 6 am to 10 pm
- Sunday, July 19, from 6 am to 10 pm
- Sunday, July 26, from 6 am to 10 pm
- Sunday, August 2, from 6 am to 10 pm
- Sunday, August 9, from 6 am to 10 pm
- Sunday, August 16, from 6 am to 10 pm
- Sunday, August 23, from 6 am to 10 pm
- Sunday, August 30, from 6 am to 10 pm
- Sunday, September 6, from 6 am to 10 pm
- Sunday, September 20, from 6 am to 8 pm
- Sunday, October 4, from 6 am to 8 pm
- Tuesday, October 13, from 6 am to 8 pm
- Sunday, October 18, from 6 am to 8 pm
- Sunday, November 1, from 6 am to 8 pm
- Sunday, November 15, from 6 am to 8 pm
During these periods, the removal of the modular bridge will begin at 6 am, with the main marine navigation channel expected to be open by 9 am.
During the summer months, from June 7 to September 6, the main marine navigation channel will close at 7 pm to reinstall the bridge, with the causeway expected to reopen to vehicles, cyclists and pedestrians by 10 pm.
Due to reduced daylight hours, from April 19 to May 31, and then again from September 20 to November 15, the main marine navigation channel will close at 5 pm to reinstall the bridge, with the causeway expected to reopen to vehicles, cyclists and pedestrians by 8 pm.
